I have a vango banshee (tunnel) too, but the semi geodesic is much better. Why? well 80% of the time I end up camping in places with chalk just below the surface and cant drive pegs in. I like being able to stick 3 poles in and its up. It was pretty bitter late last week, and I wasnt wanting to hang about out in the cold rain.
I dont worry if its discontinued or not.Ive got tent repair kit, and if I look after it, it should last for 5 years at least.
Yup took it on my bike, did 111 miles on Thursday night , friday morning.
I think the bottom line is when the weather turns bad Id rather be in something fairly bombproof compared to a festival tent. Id recommend anything that fits your needs. But on my mid-sleep loo break, it was comforting watching it not moving an inch in 50-60mph winds with the rain hammering down.
Too much info I think...

How about a Coleman Coastline 2 Plus? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Coleman-Coastli ... B0030BG9Q0
I'm not old and cynical, I'm realistic!

Or pay £7 more and get the Pictor X2 which is the same shape and size, two thirds of the weight and has alloy poles instead of fiberglass

Re: Pop-up tents
whatever you get you should go away for a weekend some where ( close ) to sort out the details of using that particular tent.
