For me its a Mountain Hardware Sprite which is tiny and lightweight and weighs in around 1.6kg but you can lie in the tent and cook in the shelter of the wind as its a side opening tent. This really is a small compact tent but its worked well enough for me when cycling in Iceland in the past.

When I'm motorcycling in Iceland or want a wee bit more room cycling I take my Vango force 10 which is a two man plus and has plenty of space aswell as a double end opening so you can use either end depending on wind direction. Its quite a bit heavier at at around 3kg but its nice to have the extra space.

If i'm in my Landrover then i'd take my Tentipi Zircon 7 which is enormous but weighs around 9kg there's room to stand up in it aswell as using a stove or firebox. This is the Rolls Royce of Scandanavian expedition tents and you can even put a plywood floor in it in windertime and with the Eldfell stove you could live in it permanently.

Sleeping bag wise i'm using a Mountain Harware 3 season bag as when I go to Iceland in late may you can still get temperatures below zero or as easily temperatures in the teens but its not unusual to wake up to a frost frozen tent.

My stove is a Trangia meths stove and you can easily buy the Icelandic version of meths called Raudspirit which is red and has an additive in it that makes you sick if you drink it!
