Campsite for C2C start at Workington

Post by Joe.B »

Can anyone recommend a campsite near Workington?

I'm planning to ride the C2C sometime during April on the tandem with my Daughter. I'd like to arrive at the start by train around tea-time, and camp before setting out next morning. I've identified sites to use along the way but can't seem to find a simple site near Workington.

Any suggestions welcome.

If you fail to find a local campsite (and I don’t know of any),

Train to Ravenglass, camp at very nearby Camping and Caravanning Club campsite.
Ratty Arms for food/drink if needed.
In early morning use the mainline train to continue on to Workington, or plan to ride the Hadrian’s Cycleway route north to Workington.
