As it is supposed to be good weather this weekend I shall be cycling a round trip from Wimborne /Salisbury /Bath /Cheddar /Wimborne. So route advise please . I shall go to Salisbury via Christchurch then the Newforest ,its not direct but I am not bothered as I am in no rush and happy to do extra miles. I shall be staying at Hostels, and starting out on Saturday 15 March.
Thinking caps on any route considered. Thanks Tim.

Re: urgent route info needed
As you do not say how long you have available and don't mind a detour how about going via Lands End

Grandad, if I wanted to go to Landsend I would not be doing a circular route from my home town of Wimborne. I have 4 days to complete.
Please guys ,serious suggestions needed. As for L.E ,if I cycled there I would want to make a real trip of it and do a LEJOG turn round and do JOG to Wimborne.
Thanks Tim.

You'll find maps are quite useful but if you're stuck for inspiration.
Day 1 You seem to have this pretty well sorted.
Day 2 From Salisbury to Bath how about following the River Avon to Amesbury and Devizes and then Kennet and Avon canal to Bath.
Day 3 Leave Bath on the Avon Valley Railway Path and then cut across country following the Chew Valley to Chew Magna. (There's a good restaurant at Chew Valley Lake for lunch/elevenses) From Chew Stoke head south on B3114 and pick up the B3371/B3135 to cross the Mendips to Cheddar
Day 4 Mostly on minor roads Glastonbury, Bruton, Shaftesbury, Blandford, Wimbourne.

There's a spectacular sight along here, but I think you'll enjoy it more if it comes as a complete surprise as it did with me.

To Norman H, thanks for the suggestions regarding routes for my very mini tour. Cycling to Amesbury/Devises via the canal I have done a lot of this before, and it is a pleasant . Are you talking about the series of Locks that are cycled past ? A remarkable construction indeed, or am I going to get shot of my bike as I go near the Army firing range ? Also the Chew Valley area I don't know too well so I may go that way. And my last day,Glastonbury/Shaftsbury / Home. nice and hilly.
Cheers for that, happy cycling. TIM.
