Young child stepped out from high-sided vehicle pushing his bike before him - smack! child and bikes x2 ok, but me - over the handlebars landing on shoulder - ouch!!! but could have been worse. Judging from the aggro suffered by many posting on this forum, I have no complaints about this but would instead make note of the great majority of other road users who have given me no cause for angst over the past few years / 20,000 miles of cycling.
Without my stoker, every trip would only be half a journey

We went there to choose and order some wallpaper.
No incidents. Plenty of potholes on the minor roads (due to recent flooding) but we managed to avoid them all.
Nice sunny weather, a trifle chilly.
On the main roads leading into town, traffic was heavy, but there were no unwelcome encounters. Motorists gave us room.
Will that do? :)
The thought of all that paperhanging would have spoiled the trip for me :(

Ah - but then, you see, I quite enjoy paperhanging! What I don't care for, so much, is (a) moving all the furniture (b) scraping off the old paper (c) repairing holes in the plaster (d) draining and taking down the radiators. After that  - the rest's a doddle! 8)

What might also have spoilt it for us was the prices (yes, I know you can get cheap-o paper at B&Q's and the like, but it shows its cheap-o-ness!) Prices going up to £100-plus per roll were pretty off-putting. In the end we settled for a design at £22 per roll, and even that seems exorbitant. Hopefully this lot will out-last me.... :?
Suppose that this room is a lift. The support breaks and down we go with ever-increasing velocity.
Let us pass the time by performing physical experiments...

Hmm- I don't actually mind doing the preparation it's nailing the paper on the wall that gets to me :( - anyway can't Mrs P do that? There's a lot of cycling on TV at the moment

I think that with more people starting cycling and even more starting driving, the incidents will become more often and more posts of that nature will spring up.
Ah the joys of cycling :)
