I wonder if someone could point me in the right direction for a map of the Neusiedler See area of Austria please (south-east of Vienna)? My wife and I have booked a self catering apartment not far from the lake. We intend to pootle through the local nature reserves and use the ferries that criss-cross the lake - our daily cycling distances will be fairly small. Hence I'm after a map showing cycle routes and/or minor tracks around the lake - it need not extend much further afield. Many thanks.
(As an aside, there was a thread on this forum last year started when someone asked about family friendly routes in the lakes area just south of Munich. On the basis of the suggestions given, my wife and I spent a plaesant few days in Bad Tolz - at the crossroads of two major cycle routes. So, thanks to whoever started the topic and to everyone who contributed).
Austrian map suggestion please
Re: Austrian map suggestion please
I use https://anachb.vor.at/bin/query.exe/dn?L=vs_voranachb to plan routes in Austria. It's not the most user friendly site in the universe, but you can get a pdf download of your route and the output seems pretty good. I have used it a few times, and found the routes to be reasonable, though it seems to prioritise by routes with cycle facilities.

Re: Austrian map suggestion please
Thanks for appreciating the info on Bad Tolz. As I said in the post I use Kompass maps. These show cycle and walking paths. They can be bought in UK or online. I recommend that you buy them locally in Austria as some areas are duplicated on several maps.

This will go to a similar level of detail to 1:25000 OS maps.

If you have an Android mobile phone download alpine quest and use the free Austrian topo maps which provide a similar level of detail.
