Windows Media Player!

Post by gbnz »

Apologies, my question is cycle related, as I need a MP3 player in order to tour (And survive noisy evenings on campsites).

My laptop's running Windows 7, 64 Bit, Windows Home Premium. In theory it should have Windows Media Player pre-installed, allowing me to scan my cd's and copy them over to a Sony MP3 player. But I can't find it :!:

Is there any manner by which I can obtain Windows Media Player, without risking downloading all sorts of $£"^((*&% :?:. Microsoft's site doesn't appear to allow for the possibility that WMP isn't installed (I.e. doesn't offer any sort of WMP download); PC Worlds free WMP download (Among others), appeared to offer a dubious insistence on signing up to some web browser I've never heard of before, supported by my laptop being used to stream unwanted adverts to myself

Are there any solutions :?:

Yes, in windows' settings there is an option to install components you didn't install earlier. Wmp should be available there.

You can download it from Microsoft.

There are much better ways to manage a digital music library though. Media Monkey is great if you are a bit pedantic about everything being arranged correctly and looking ship shape.

I don't have a gambling problem. I'm winning, and winning is not a problem for me. That's like saying AC/DC have an awesomeness problem.

Thanks, I've finally located Windows Media Player (I googled your reply and followed the strange instructions that came up via google!).

I've had the laptop for 23 months and my requirement to sort out a new MP3 player tomorrow, has finally prompted my 4 hour search for media player :!: (Every other pc/laptop I've had, has been so straightforward!)

Thanks, I could only see a download for XP. Microsoft only appeared to have updates for my version (Though I haven't got much of an idea of what I'm doing, in relation to IT)
