Heads up . Lidl Lightweight Rucksack!

Post by NATURAL ANKLING »

Hi,
Lidl has had some "Cycling" rucksacs for the last two weeks (might have gone in your local shop). 3RD - 9TH Apr.

They are very lightweight, I guess 400 -500 grams or so, has a chest strap so the arm straps dont drop off shoulders, waist strap of course, also a water proof cover, two side mesh pockets but not elasticated at top, various other pockets.

What makes this good is the weight and the price £10.

I was in Lidl earlier today and saw that backpack.

As Natural Ankling says they do seem good.

I'd say good for lightish use.

The best camelback type thing I've ever bought (I have 3) came from Lidl - cost about £13 I think. It was the ideal combination of reasonable but not overdone storage and water capacity. I've never found one as good from that point of view, even costing £50 or so.

The workstand is very highly regarded and word is spreading - I know someone in Italy who failed to get one at two separate shops - seem to have sold out fairly early on the first day.

So fast I suspect a few ebay vultures.

The Lidl bike maintenance stand for £30 is in my opinion £30 well spent. My knees and back thank me for it most weeks!

PS we still have them here, but last time I bought one, the manager told me that the previous time they had them in stock, a guy came in and bought 8 of them to re-sell on Ebay.

Hi,
At last look the stands were selling for about £ 37 with P&P on ebay so theres is no profit there :?:

The older Lidl ruckacks (Black) with bladder were 9.99 I think but they were heavy at 850 grams.
A mountain marathon rucksack (350 grams) will set you back about £55 on ebay, I bought two second hand Regatta XLT sacks off ebay and had to do very minor refurb at £7 each, bladder compat at just 340 grams, no bladder included.

Yes the lidl sacks are light and cheap but would be good for a year or two and the price is good.

Lidl has done some cracking cycle stuff but repeats are not always the same items, cycle socks are the buis tho, just try and buy them for £2.49.

1ST time round my store had one cycle stand :( 2ND got in at 7 oclock and 30 :) Then I pulled one from the bargain box at £ 10 :) a week or two later :(
Sold it for £30 :D

This is the Lidl design at £ 36.78 posted.

Beauty is in the eye... etc. but I would look hard at Alpkit's Gourdon if I wanted a super-light day sac - water-proof, too! :-)

PS Got the workstand a couple of years ago and love it! :-)

Hi,
Looks good, and the price, does not give weight :?:
looks versatile, the Lidl is cheap if you are just after a sack for commuting on your roadie etc.

Ah its 621 - 640 gms.

That's odd - I just weighed mine and get 426 grammes for bladder and sac (starting to sound like something out of the urology ward of the local general hospital!)
Blue CamelBak on top of grey Gourdon - let's ignore the weight of the rubber band (Thanx, Postie!)

I like Alpkit kit - always innovative, light and well-made, at good prices, too.
