Here is another pair
http://www.lecoqsportif.com/uk-en/e-sho ... wgodtUgAjw

But I particularly like these...

Helps if you get in a punch up with a driver as well.

On a more serious note, why use leather? There are better materials for gloves out there.

I like leather on the palms, but I prefer the ones with net on the back. I got some for £1 at a cycle jumble few years ago :D and I can still have the spotty tan on the backs of my hands that was so admired by cyclists when I was a teen... ;)

Exactly, except for the admiration. I think they were casting their caps at you.

When cycle promotions were at the York rally they did the string backed type for a quid a pair. Two sorts all black or all white like many pro racers used in the 50s, 60s and 70s. They always had big boxes of the mitts - wonder who bought their stock. I've a pair of each and neither show any sign of deterioration after several years use. If anything the white ones look better than those in the Rapha advert which is written in pretentious tosh.

Wonder how Rapha justify charging over 120 quid more than these which look fine mitts and cost £7.99 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Classic-Cycle ... 1e8991e969

or a hundred quid more than these

Yes I do want leather and a decent standard. But not 130! Bruceys look a bit too preloved for me... There has to be something between the two!

I've used these for years -hardwearing and good value. Old stretched ones are ideal over thermal wool gloves for winter use.

Agu do these, although I am not sure about UK stockists

And while not cheap, except when compared to Rapha  , these Gore ones are lovely

The ad says they are unused but in yellowed packaging. No connection BTW but at £1.49 a pair I don't think you can go wrong really...?

Also; I have used mitts from the pound shop; they did a job, no complaints for the price.

cheers

Dont know where my reply went but wiggle have a selection and both gore and altura do some that are a lot less than Rapha.

http://www.wiggle.co.uk/gore-bike-wear- ... ing-glove/

I also thought that specialized did a one called '74' which were rather nice and may have been kangeroo leather.

The Altura mitts and the Gore Bike Wear mitts have synthetic leather palms.
