I'm doing a short trip to Cheshire at the end of May and wondered if anyone could recommend any small, inexpensive cycle-friendly campsites? I'm looking on ukcampsites and the Cheshire Cycleway website but would be good to hear from the horses mouth as it were!
Cheers!

I stayed at the Cotton Arms a few years ago:

It was alright, wash up in the pub and pay behind the bar. Big old field near the canal at the back of the pub. And, of course, it comes with a pub.

There's a small 'Camping & Caravan' site in the Delemere forest (check out the OS map)

Contact Chester Tourism office. They sent me a free huge parcel full of routes, campsites, B&Bs etc. Brilliant.
Thats if the cuts have'nt bit though.

I'd forgotten about this post!
To report back:
1 night at C&CC site near Leek (Staffs) - as good value as their sites always seem to be - but don't approach via main road from Leek, side roads via Meerbrook far less hilly.
1 night at Yatehouse Farm near Middlewich - OK but £10 so overpriced for poor facilities - no lights in loos - plus road noise.
3 nights at Birch Bank Farm, Christleton, Chester - lovely site despite rain - basic facilities, loo, sink, shower, but all clean and worked. Working farm, only electric fence between tents and the cows! Excellent cycle facilities in Chester.
