Insurance for EU and beyond

Hi all,

I've been reading various posts and terms/conditions on various insurance when travelling/touring by bike and i'm more confused now then when started.

I want to go away on bike soon, only EU is planned so far but I have no time limits so hopefully I might even get further.

I have the EU health Card only at the moment, I understand I also need (or best to have) personal liability and travel insurance. Is there a 1-type covers all (where ever you are in the world) type package I can take out or is it more complicated then that?
