Hi,
on my last trip I managed to tear the flysheet of my Hilleberg Akto right across the front close to where it joins the ground sheet. A tear of about 30cms. I stitched it up with standard thread and it held up for the last few nights. Luckily there was no rain as it clearly wouldn't be waterproof.
Has anyone any experience of sucessfully repairing a flysheet with this sort of damage, note it is an area that gets quite a bit of tension. Is this one for a professional?
cheers,
steve.

Tenacious tape maybe? Does sound like it might need something a bit more professional, if so - http://www.scottishmountaingear.com/

Hi,
If you have a bag for tent which is normally the same flysheet material ?
And you have access to a sewing machine, then you just sew a patch over the tear and use some iron on repair tape to waterproof the tear.
It will be strong enough and waterproof.
A specailist will do the same, but charge the earth, less thane 30 minutes to reapair.

Email Hilleberg and ask them, include a photo of the tear if you can.
They are very helpful with advice and can do good quality repairs at a reasonable price.
They put a new groundsheet and elastics on my Stalon inner a few years ago for about £70 including shipping.

I contacted Hilleberg and they have given me the details for their 'service partner' www.scottishmountaingear.com
