And, the comedy shows from that golden era now deemed unacceptable. But, those of us who enjoyed them can enjoy them from our carefully preserved DVDs.

Aye, the gold old days. You wouldn't hear Derek & Clive using four letter words, or Benny Hill making bum jokes.

A late night episode of Detectorists is the perfect antidote to a depressing day. Not sure if Small Prophets is in the same league?

I found small prophets very entertaining. It drew me in as the outcome was never revealed until the final episode. My mate who found it similarly entertaining has referred me to the detectorist's which I will watch on catch up.

I'm still disinclined to pay the [derogatory word removed] tax. They never learn, they always know better until its eventually proven they don't, again and again and again.

I don't watch it, don't use the iplayer, couldn't care less if the whole organisation went belly up.

Its been a long time since it was a genuinely trustworthy and authoritative source of news, so any argument about the Beeb being a touchstone of sensible and sober reporting is just nonsense.

If some of you enjoy it then great, just don't expect me to do so and be prepared to pay more and more as around half a million more people join me each year.
