Brooks saddle lenghts?

Post by samsbike »

I have an old b17 which I really don't get on with.

A friend of mine has lent me his wife's cambium c17, which is the ladies model.

I haven't really ridden with it but what I find strange is that its about the same length, give or take 0.5m to a male edition of the B17? Why would the cambium for men be longer than the b17? Does one sit more back on a b17, I thought the shapes were supposed to be the same?

thanks

This is not answering your question but in a similar vein I have found the B17S (ladies) to be equally comfortable as the B17 (mens) albeit the former has a shorter nose otherwise the seat shaped bits seem (and feel) identical.
Without my stoker, every trip would only be half a journey

I believe the nose length is shorter on the ladies model to avoid their skirts getting hooked up - otherwise there is no difference......but you,d think the ladies would be wider to reflect wider hips and more spaced apart sit bones - maybe ladies and men's sit bones have similar spacings.
