Can anyone recommend a clip on water bottle holder for my dahon folder please, one that cannot mark the frame.

Regards

Try Decathlon who do a hard rubber clip that straps around the frame and has bolt holes in the hardened rubber to attach a standard bottle cage to... so your frame is not damaged.

SKS do a quick release fitting for a bottle cage. I use one on my folder. It is secure when fitted but can be removed in seconds.

has it to clip on and off very quickly or do you intend to leave it on all the time?

Perhaps one that clips to the back of the saddle or seatpost (or handlebars) would work OK; less far to reach on a folder.

cheers

I had a double bottle cage under the seat of my Birdy for some years and only took it off when I stopped going on longer rides. I think the bits are still in my garage somewhere. IIRC, it came from SJSC

Part of the reason for going down that route was that there was no standard tube on the bike which a normal cage would fasten to.

I've used that on my Speed Pro which is a very similar bike (you mad fool you!) to the OP's.

It's good but it is a right fiddle if you need to take it on and off for folding.

I now use a thing made by minoura which you can easily take on and off.

The bottle bag on the front of my Xootr is from Rixen Kaul and comes with a fitting to locate it on the saddle rails. I used another R/K fitting to mount it in the stem riser. The small fitting is attached by a narrow metal band and remains on the bike. The bottle bag can be removed very easily. The bag has a small pocket in the front to hold energy bars etc.
