Hi peeps,
Firstly apologies if this has found itself in the wrong place, new member to the CTC.
In August I'm looking to cycle to Cornwall from London and I need serious help plotting the route. I have done long distance rides before but they have been planned in advance and I've just followed a set route. I was looking for some help. I hope to download the neccesary info into a gps and and print off maps too as back-up. (I have memory-map software) I don't want to travel more than 70 miles in a day and I want to follow the coast too. Any help would be greatly appriecated.

If you are following the South West coast you might like to stay with me in xchange for a glass of beer and map discussion. Near Tolpuddle, Dorchester, about 1ml off route 2 Sustrans

Re:London to Cornwall
I too am new to long trips and 70 miles a day sounds fine to me. Are you camping or doing B&B?
I cannot fit in with your August trip but would be interested in your future plans.
I am based in Ealing.

Re:London to Cornwall
Hi I am very interested in doing London Cornwall. I worked out my route for this year to do mid Aug but do not know if I am able. I am a novice and was planing to do the YHA on the way. If I do not get to do it this year I wouldnt mind planing it for next year and would appreciate some company. Paul

Re:London to Cornwall
Blackie - if you want to stay in youth hostels in August, get booking now. I had to book my tour in January for August and it took YHA HQ 3 months to work it out for me. Hostels then are fully booked by wealthy families in cars. Sickening.

Re:London to Cornwall
How can they be wealthy if they are staying in YH?
That is a contradiction in terms.
Wealthy are usually persuaded "not to be seen dead in YH" which is why I use them.
Wealthy may mean 4 children; that is different.
