I bought 57-75 Alhongas from Spa at something like £21 for the pair. They were nut fitting aswell which worked fine on the front which I later discovered was supposed to have allen type!

A correction to my earlier post is called for. When I spke to Spa Cycles I discovered that the price is indeed still £21 for front and rear together. Its not always easy to tell from webpages when the item in question is a pair itself...

I was so pleased by the discovery that I treated myself to a new pair of levers to match. Talk about impulse purchases!

I hope I'm not going to regret this - I've just remembered why, 30 years ago, I thought center pull brakes were the business. They remain centred, even if you have wavy wheels, and I do hate that Sh, Sh, Sh accompaniment!

Don't worry. Modern dual pivots are a whole world away from the horrible sidepulls of yore. Weinmann centrepulls are ok for a hackbike, I've still got some in the shed, but DPs are far better.
If at first you don't succeed - cheat!!
