One of my frames was band-on, so I dismantled a pair of old downtube levers. The black plastic Campag cable anchors can be "modified" to fit - you need to file off the curvature where they are supposed to match the frame tube. I cheated & used a coarse sanding disc in the electric drill  but be careful - if you take too much off they crack when you tighten the bolt.
If at first you don't succeed - cheat!!

well done Richard and thanks for coming back to let us know it was a sucess. Sora shifters are brilliant arn't they. Its nice and comfortable to ride the hoods in busy urban traffic and be able to both brake and change gear without taking a hand off the bars.
The wide Sora hood rubbers are so comfortable that Shimano have gone back to the Sora hood width with their latest Dura Ace 10 speed levers.

Most STI levers come with a couple of tiny plastic pyramids that fit over the downtube shifter bosses and a couple of supplied bolts fix into the threaded portion . Cable sockets are built in and it makes a secure neat job .
Should only be a few pounds at any lbs
