Hi ,
A friend has acquired an old Astra ladies bike and we would like to know a bit more about it.

The bike is red/bergundy and has the make on the front with the words barton on humber underneath. She is wondering if it is old enough to ride in L'eroica next year?

Any help greatly appreciated

Astra were perhaps a part of Elswick Hopper cycles. In 1985 they closed the Barton factory and moved to Brigg ...so if I am right then Astra are perhaps pre 1985.

Also possible they were French and made by Motobecane.possibly imported by Elswick Hopper and assembled in Barton..
