Punctures
Re: Punctures
The rarity of punctures makes it even more important to carry a couple of tubes as the puncture is more likely to be fatigue related and un-mendable. Also the glue's likely to have dried up.

Re: Punctures
Hi,
There's no rhyme or reason for picking up debris or no sign of any when inspecting.
You can go several years with none and two come in a few days.
Protection strips Dont Work!
I just inspect tyre for foreign rubbish before each ride.......................
Two tubes is mandatory I.M.H.O.
Like hydraulics..........very difficult to repair under water

Hi,
Oh and always remember to keep air in tyres...............
I reckon that half the riders I see including club riders, their tyres are underinflated

Re: Punctures
I used to ride on GP4000s and had 3 or 4 punctures per year, with the exception of 5 in 6 weeks back in 2019 that went away when I changed the tyre. Never could see anything wrong with it though.
I've been using Schwalbe Duranos with Slime tubes for the last 8000+ km. I carry a single spare tube but never needed it. I did replace the back tyre in February because the cross-section was looking a bit flat on top, but there's plenty of rubber left so I put it on a bike that doesn't get much use. There weren't any green splats inside, so the Slime had had nothing to do.

Have we got time for another cuppa?
