Re: heart pain or muscle pain?

The flight was fine, and I don't need to drive for the next few weeks as I am working from home on a project until the end of February
I'm tending towards muscle pain, as I was pushing it pretty hard before I went on holiday and may have over done it - particularly on the bench press where I have been building towards a personal best and wanted (but failed) to do it before Xmas
I have strained my heart in the past through over training and pushing too hard. This is the most likely cause, and the only cure is rest and laying off the training for a bit, which is fine as my next big tour isn't until May.
Its got better with rest. It's just an infrequent dull ache now, so I'm tending towards a strain - maybe my pec, or possibly my heart.
I've had 20 years of tests on my heart, which has many downsides, but the upside is it has been tested, tested and tested again since I was in my early twenties and there is no sign of disease. I was signed off a couple of years ago, and told not to worry about the tachycardia (the DVLA know about it). It was happening so frequently - up to 7 times per day, that my cardiologist (a top cardiologist) said that GPs and A&E will panic, but I should be assured that it has happened hundreds if not thousands of times to me, and I have survived - my body has found a way to deal with it. There is nothing that they can do about it, I should just get on and live my life - which is what I am doing.
So I will ease back into training slowly and gently and listen to my body. If it hurts then I'll back off. If it persists then I'll go to the GP/A&E
I wouldn't put other people at risk. The DVLA know my history and say that I am ok to drive. I took their advice when they said that I couldn't, but I drive now because they say that I am safe - they are the experts.
The forum has helped me, but giving me somewhere to put my thoughts down and also hear the arguments for and against.
The bottom line is that I do have a medical problem, and one day it will probably kill me, until then I'll live life to the full, but I won't put other people at risk. If they take my car away then I'll hand the keys back and do what I did last time...get on my bike, and before someone else says it, yes I know that still poses a risk to other people, but as I could collapse on any day at any time then I pose a risk walking on the pavement, crossing the road and being a passenger in car. As a bike is inherently unstable if I collapse I would fall off rather than plough into anyone.
