Honda Jazz - no bikes on car roof?

Did they suggest that there was nothing that could be carried on the roof?

'cos bikes can't be the heaviest of items I've loaded onto a car roof at any time...

I've had two Honda Jazzes both outside warranty. It seems that the reason they leak is because the body shell parts are so rigid that when the flexible sealer dries out it cracks. The problem area is usually the right hand rear because it will leak into the spare wheel cavity (left side drains outwards so is ok). Resealing is a pig to do and not very successful. The answer is to drill holes in the spare wheel cavity to let it drain. Back on subject - my machines go inside which is partly why I bought a Jazz - the seats fold absolutely flat.

I think the answer is to demand that Honda fix it, whether it's in or out of warranty! Roofs shouldn't leak, full stop!

And a long hard squawk it was too! The secret was refusing to hang up the phone.

The good thing about the Jazz though, is that even though it is a small car, you can easily get a couple of bikes in the back with the seats down. Definitely commodious.

I endorse the last comment. I did some research when buying a replacement car for my failed MOT Citroen ZX estate The Honda Jazz, although small in appearance, is very roomy with the rear seats down measuring 6 feet diagonally in the back, more than enough for at least one bike if not two. Check on YouTube on how the bikes go in. Equivalent small cars are sometimes as much as a foot shorter. In the end I opted for a Skoda Fabia estate, not wishing to give up the advantage of the extra space.

Certainly if you look one the accessories page the only bike carrier listed is for towbar fitting even though they list several roof rack options including for skis - though it's hard to imagine the typical, geriatric jizz owner having much interest in skiing.

Honda Jazz owners here in Malaysia tend to be young urban professionals - always with way above average incomes (cars are stupidly expensive here, especially in relation to income. You have it good in UK.
