Does anyone know what has happened to them, I drove past recently and the shop was empty?

Yesterday it said GB Cycles on it. I believe Vernon's former apprentice took it over & Vernon makes the odd frame for fun, but I may be wrong, I normally use Edison in Clowne.

I heard it like this, but can't confirm for definite.

Vernon retired 5 yrs or so ago and sold it to barry and graham. Graham left not long after, as motorbike customising was his love and barry bought him out.
Vernon missed applying his frame building skills and the people and came back to work for himself, still in the basement of the premises, but on a reduced, part time basis.
during this time barry started e-baying and the volume and profits he makes there far outweighs the shop. So he's jacked it in and gone e-baying.
Meanwhile, vernon will continue to rent the basement and continue with the frames, but will not run the shop.

Vernon continues to do Mondays and Fridays - the website has been updated since Barry gave up the shop. He's now working as a rep for a bike company. Shame he's finished - an excellent wheelbuilder.
