I've been diagnosed with a small (<7mm) brain aneurysm. The neurosurgeon has explained that the risk of a rupture at this size is fairly small (ie about 0.5%), with any surgical repair carrying a greater risk of stroke at about 5%. He intends to place me on a programme for the next two years to monitor any changes and says that I should continue my current outdoor pastimes such as cycling and hill walking in the meantime.
Has anyone else has been in a similar situation? I'd be very interested to hear about your experience post diagnosis and what effect this had on your cycling, Audax, touring ambitions etc. I'm 60 by the way.
Thanks

Re: Intracranial Aneurysm
Sorry to read about your aneurysm Andrew and although I have no experience to offer you it does sound hopeful that your doctor has told you that you can continue your outside activities.
