Basil bike bags

Post by p_pitstop »

Has anyone tried the bike bags made by Basil ? http://www.basil.nl/gb/home/ I'm thinking of getting a couple of Mirte bags for light shopping as they look a bit more 'normal' than carrying 2 Carradice Super C rear panniers about town.

These are sold in the Dutch Bike Shop in Littlehampton. When we cycled the Danube Radweg in Austria panniers like these were included in our cycle hire. They were good on the bike as they were easy to attach and were quite rigid. I found them awkward to carry round in shops etc. I have since bought a Batavus touring bike and have opted for Ortlieb Roller Classics. I have only used them once. They are easy to attach to the carrier and very easy to carry as shoulder bags or rucksacks and they have more than adequate capacity for my needs.
