Front mech for Shimano Deore Triple Chainset

I'm just about to put a Deore 48-36-24 M610 triple chainset on my daily bike, replacing a double.

Looking at the front derailleurs, there are a lot and they only seem slightly different.

Can anyone recommend a "usual" topswing derailleur to match to this chainset?

Usage is normal utility / commuting /recreation / light touring, perhaps 2000-3000 miles this year, so while I would pay a bit more for something eg that smoothed upchanges, the usual match should be OK.

Thanks

Ferdinand

I think the alivio one will work OK.

I'm assuming that you have MTB shifters?

cheers

The Shimano recommended will be FD M610 but any MTB mech' that matches the chainring sizes should work.
Check that it also matches the downtube size etc.

Try your double mech first. A couple of my bikes work happily on triples using the original double mech and BB. DT shifters though.

I recommend trying your current changer first - I did and on one changer I simply filed the stops off a bit to widen its range. If it gets too dirty it tends not to go in far enough for the inner ring - but that is a maintenance issue.
Nothing to lose trying it first.
